Cold, Flu, or COVID? Here’s How to Tell the Difference
12/09/2025
You’re run down. Throat’s scratchy. Maybe a fever. Is it just a cold — or something more? Cold, flu, and COVID share a lot of the same symptoms. Here’s the quick breakdown.
Slow start, mild symptoms. Runny or stuffy nose, sneezing, sore throat, light cough. You feel crummy but can still function. Usually resolves in a week or so.
Sudden and severe. High fever, intense body aches, chills, fatigue that knocks you flat. Flu can turn serious quickly — especially for young kids, older adults, and anyone with underlying conditions.
Unpredictable. Could feel like a cold, the flu, or something in between. Watch for fever, cough, fatigue, loss of taste or smell. Symptoms vary widely — testing is the only sure way to know.
Fever over 102°. Trouble breathing. Symptoms that aren’t improving — or are getting worse. Or you just need clarity so you can take the right next steps.
Night Watch Stone Ridge is here for your whole family — because feeling better shouldn’t have to wait.
